Professor of Software Engineering at ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Z?rich since 2001 Renowned for his Design by Contract method and as the creator of the Eiffel programming language, Meyer is focused on quality and truth and his language has proved successful both as a teaching language due to its simplicity and elegance and as a development language for large scale projects due mainly to its accessibility to non-technical people and features that support design by contract such as invariants, pre-conditions and post-conditions and genericity. The UML has incorporated aspects of his methods.
